Courtyard by Marriott Waterbury Downtown

I've been gone for about 20 years. I came back for a family funeral and every time I do come back, I always come to the Marriott lovely and I love staying here. The service is good personality of the employees are very helpful and very courteous. I recommend it wholeheartedly, if you want a lovely stay in Waterbury, come to the Marriott, they welcome you all Happy New Year.

I was there for the Waterbury Fireman's Ball. The hotel is conveniently located with an adjacent parking structure and you're validated for your stay. The front entrance leads to a sunken gathering space with plenty of seating on multiple levels for informal gathering. The Bistro is on the other side of the common area, but with enough architectural separation to define the spaces. The front desk staff was friendly, professional and efficient. Here's what I really came to say, though. We attended the Fireman's Ball. The banquet space was lovely, table, bar, and entertainment set up was intuitive, and spacing was good, though the number of tables made navigation a bit tight when everyone was seated. There also could have been slightly better flow to and from the bar, but I'm not even sure how that could have been improved. The Real star was the banquet manager Chuck Newton. I felt compelled to leave this review mainly because of his level of peak professionalism. I noted a loose transition piece on the dance floor while dancing. I used my foot to move it back into place, but I could tell it was still a potential problem. I looked around for any banquet attendant, but they were busy clearing plates and it was hard to catch up with one. I finally spot Mr Newton and I'm heading from my table to talk to him when I see him duck behind the band, come back with something in his hand, go over to the spot I'd noted, and replace the faulty piece with a new one. He was always present, always checking in, always making sure the staff were attentive and also supported in making the guest experience great. He definitely deserves recognition for an excellent job.

If I could leave 100 stars I would!! I was there this past weekend and was very stressed and had to take care of some less than happy issues. The bright spot in my time in CT was this hotel! I had to extend my stay and the front desk staff made it easy and asked if I needed anything every time they saw me because they knew I was having a rough time. The gentleman that ran the parking garage gate was AMAZING. So sweet and friendly and had great recommendations for local spots. The hotel was clean, the food was really good (ordered room service breakfast) and the staff was 5-stars luxury hotel level. The location is very accessible and close to freeways. If you’re looking for a hotel in the area stay here!!!!

I attended my niece’s wedding two weeks ago, and the point of contact was Jazzie—she was absolutely phenomenal. Her customer service was outstanding from start to finish. She happened to be at the front desk when we checked in, and she was just as warm and welcoming in person as she was over the phone. I know I called her at least twice a week to check if certain guests had made their reservations, and she was such a delight to speak with every single time—patient, kind, and genuinely helpful. Jazzie truly made the whole experience smoother and more enjoyable for our family.

No complaints about the room overall. The shower had amazing water pressure which was great but did end up going everywhere and making a mess in the bathroom. Needed extra towels to soak up all the water…oops. The location isn’t bad but they do lock the doors. There is only one person working the little cafe downstairs so wait lines to buy something for breakfast are crazy, you’re better off going elsewhere. Also purchase water/ drinks at the convenience store rather than the cafe. It’s almost $5 for a bottle of Aquafina. Gym was good, but small.

Enjoyed my stay here. Shay made sure my stay was accommodating and comfortable. Jayden is such a helpful and kind young man, and the young lady at the cafe (I believe she’s the supervisor) was also great. Lovely staff, lovely stay.

Rooms need to updated. Very weird the location of the television. It snowed and the walkway to the garage was icy without being salted. Just in case you're looking for complimentary breakfast it isn't available there. The food they do sell isn't worth it. They have great potential. The garage is a paid garage, however for the holiday it was free. The staff were hospitable.

I have been staying here for few weeks and all the staff have been wonderful from check in to housekeeping to the parking security. They are all friendly and welcoming rooms are kept extremely clean would recommend to all. Thank you courtyard for your exceptional services.
